Executive Assistant
Corinne Cassell is the executive assistant to General Manager Mark Foree. After spending 13 years as the secretary to the vice president of marketing and communications at Washoe Health Systems, she was ready to try something different.
"My boss left and so I thought I would try a new boss and a new job," she said. "I was ready to learn something new."
Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Mich., Corinne originally moved to the west via Sacramento, and then to Reno in 1987. Although she mentioned that she didn't fall in love with Reno right away, the Silver State has grown on her.
"At first I thought Reno was desolate and barren, but now I love it here," she recalled. "The people, the weather, the mountains; it's just wonderful."
The outdoor benefits of the area are important for some of Corinne's hobbies, such as hiking and camping. She also enjoys reading, volunteering within her church, and going to the theatre with Tim, her husband of ten years.
As executive assistant, Corinne's responsibilities include making travel arrangements for employees, organizing board reports and packets and maintaining an efficient office. While she's keeping the office running, she is also busy learning the in's and out's of the water business.
"I like to talk to people and find out what they do here, it's fascinating," she said. "I had no idea, as a consumer, what goes into making the water safe, taste good and available 24 hours a day. Working here really makes me more aware of water as a limited resource."
