Truckee Meadows Water Authority Receives National Award
for Safety Awareness
(RENO, Nev.) – Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) was recently commended with the Wendell R. LaDue Award by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Health Safety & Environment Committee. TMWA was recognized for their continuing efforts to increase safety awareness in all operations.
TMWA’s Safety, Emergency Response and Security Coordinator, Chet Malewski accepted, on behalf of TMWA’s safety team, the national award for safety awareness at AWWA’s annual conference and exposition.
The Wendell R. LaDue annual award is only given to four utilities throughout the country and TMWA and was honored in the 100 to 500 employee class. Utilities are evaluated on their safety record for the past five years, safety and health program best practices and nomination.
Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) is a not-for-profit water utility, overseen by elected officials from Reno, Sparks and Washoe County. TMWA employs a highly skilled team who ensure the treatment, delivery and availability of high-quality drinking water around the clock for more than 330,000 residents of the Truckee Meadows.
