Learn About Our Water Supply and
Tour the Truckee River System

TMWA is offering a free, educational bus tour of the river system and
community's water supply on Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17.  The tour will include major upstream dams and reservoirs that store water for the Truckee Meadows community. Additionally, participants will take a tour of TMWA's Chalk Bluff Water Treatment Facility and learn more about its hydroelectric power plants.

Throughout the day TMWA's expert staff will provide information on the history of the water supply, dam operations, water supply management, current water issues, the Truckee River Operating Agreement and related topics. Bring your questions, as there will be plenty of time to talk with TMWA's water experts. The bus tour will begin at 9 a.m. and end at approximately 4 p.m. The tour will include a box lunch and transportation, beginning and ending at TMWA's office at 1355 Capital Boulevard. There is no charge for this tour, but there are a limited number of seats available. Please call 834-8290 by Friday, May 9, to reserve your spot. Please note, tour participants must be at least 18 years of age.
