Elected by her Council peers in November of 2024, Kathleen is currently serving as the Reno Vice Mayor.
In November 2024, Kathleen Taylor was elected to represent Ward 1. As a native Nevadan, mother of two daughters, graduate of University of Nevada, Reno as well as a small business owner, Kathleen is honored to live in and advocate for Ward 1.
In Kathleen’s previous position as a Planning Commissioner, she served and advised the City Council on economic development, natural resource conservation and enhancement, housing development, as well as land use decisions. She is familiar with our Zoning Code, the Master Plan and the entitlement process. Additionally, she has been a member of the Building Enterprise Funding Advisory Committee (BEFAC).
A Nevada native, Kathleen earned a Bachelor of Journalism from University of Nevada, Reno with a minor in Public Administration. She also is a graduate of the Reno Sparks Chamber Leadership program and Reno Citizens Institute.
Kathleen has a passion for creating and maintaining a safe, vibrant, and clean neighborhood for everyone. Priding herself in being a team player, Kathleen strives to serve the community through supporting the goals, vision, and mission of the City of Reno and the community.
