Following TMWA’s Assigned-Day Watering program at your home or business will help you use water responsibly this summer. All customers have three days each week to run their sprinkler systems. Your street address is the key to remembering your watering days.
- Even addresses water their yards on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
- Odd addresses water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
- All sprinklers rest on Mondays, which allows the recharge of our water system.
- No sprinkler use from noon to 6 p.m., during the heat of the day.
Being smart about water is a way of life in the Truckee Meadows, and Assigned-Day Watering keeps yards healthy, avoids waste and helps to keep your water bills low.
What To Do if You See Water Being Wasted
TMWA is dedicated to helping our customers prevent unnecessary waste. In most cases, people are unaware that they have a broken pipe or a misdirected sprinkler head. If you see water being wasted anywhere, please let us know by calling our Conservation Department at 775-834-8005 or report it on TMWA’s website under the Report Water Waste dropdown. Here you can provide information and even upload pictures of an issue. One of our conservation consultants will visit the site and offer advice on how to fix the problem. For additional water and money-saving tips, please visit tmwa.com/conserve.
We also work with customers experiencing high water bills and leaks in their systems. Customers can request a free, in-home water audit to help identify leaks and find ways to save water. This can ultimately save money on water bills. Water-usage reviews are generally scheduled within two to three business days after the request comes into our office.
Call the Conservation Department at 775-834-8005 to schedule your audit.
