Being smart about water is a way of life in the Truckee Meadows, and Assigned-Day Watering keeps yards healthy, avoids waste and helps to keep your water bills low. As a reminder, all customers have three days each week to run their sprinkler systems. Your street address is the key to remembering your watering days.
The watering schedule at a glance:
- Odd addresses (ending with 1, 3, 5, 7, 9): Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays
- Even addresses (ending with 0, 2, 4, 6, 8): Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays
- Mondays: Rest day for the system, no watering
- Drip irrigation and hand watering are always permitted
This schedule keeps landscapes healthy while promoting smart water use in our high desert climate. Water in the Truckee Meadows is a shared resource and during the summer months, water demand can increase more than four times due to irrigation needs. Managing the demand efficiently is essential to keep our water system reliable and ensure there’s water available for everyone’s needs.
