Pyramid Way Water Main Replacement Project

October 13, 2025

TMWA will begin replacing a 12-inch cast iron water main originally installed in 1936 along Pyramid Way, from Nugget Avenue to Prater Way. The project will improve reliability and reduce the risk of future leaks and main breaks.

Project Start Date: October 14, 2025
Estimated Completion: March 2026

Construction Schedule:

  • Work will take place overnight to minimize impacts on local businesses and commuters.
  • All lanes will reopen during the day.
  • Detours: Southbound lanes on Pyramid Way will close overnight, with northbound lanes remaining open. Detours will be clearly marked via McCarran Blvd, Prater Way, Rock Blvd, and Nugget Avenue (see map here).

Why now?
NDOT plans to rehabilitate Pyramid Way immediately following this project. By completing the replacement first, TMWA will ensure the new water main is in place before roadway improvements begin—avoiding potential future disruptions and protecting new pavement.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding while we complete this critical infrastructure improvement.
