This week’s storms delivered a welcome boost to our regional snowpack, bringing Snow Water Equivalent in the Truckee River watershed to 78% of average— an increase of 21% compared to conditions just before the recent storm system arrived.
Upstream water storage was already in strong shape, with Lake Tahoe expected to come close to filling. This added precipitation further strengthens our regional water supply outlook as we move toward spring runoff and into the summer months.
