Mr. Barnes was promoted to Facilities and Generation Manager at Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) in November 2024. He originally joined TMWA in 2016 as a Senior Design Engineer in the Capital Engineering Department, where he worked on large infrastructure improvement projects, including the rehabilitation and installation of pump stations, pressure-regulating stations, well houses, hydroelectric facilities, treatment plants, and various other projects.

Prior to his time at TMWA, Mr. Barnes worked as a design engineer in the water, wastewater, and general civil industries, contributing to major infrastructure improvement projects. In total, he brings 21 years of experience to TMWA.

Mr. Barnes holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Binghamton University in New York. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Nevada and holds AWWA Water Operator licenses: Distribution-2 Full and Treatment-2 Full.
