She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) designation, and a Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP) designation. Additionally, she is affiliated with multiple professional public procurement organizations and serves on the Awards Task Force for the National Institute for Governmental Procurement (NIGP).
Laura is an avid advocate and subject matter expert in implementing best practices, optimizing processes, adopting a people-first approach, and strategic team building. She has a proven track record of building connections, creating impactful initiatives, and fostering positive community change. Laura has spearheaded successful transformations that have cultivated high-performing teams, streamlined processes, and modernized TMWA’s procurement department.
As the organization’s leading voice for upholding procurement principles while embracing modernization, Laura is a well-versed and effective leader in the field. Her commitment extends beyond her professional role; for over nine years, she has served as a Board of Trustee for the Reno Rodeo Foundation, which supports children in need throughout Northern Nevada.
