Sean Feeney currently serves as TMWA’s Director of Technology • IT. With over 25 year’s experience in Information and Operational Technologies systems, Mr. Feeney’s primary focus for the organization is to oversee the various technical divisions within TMWA and to ensure the organization’s technological vision aligns with its goals, objectives, and mission to deliver exceptional water services.
Mr. Feeney started his career as a college intern at TMWA in 2001—the same year the utility was founded. He was later hired by TMWA as a full-time computer technician and progressed into a systems architect role, where he oversaw the planning and deployment of new technologies and maintained TMWA’s growing business systems infrastructure. In 2015, Mr. Feeney transferred to the Control Systems Engineering Dept., bringing Principal Systems Architecture knowledge and experience to assist in further expanding and updating TMWA’s SCADA systems infrastructure. In 2019, Mr. Feeney was promoted to Control Systems Engineering Manager and tasked with overseeing the path of continued modernization of TMWA’s SCADA systems and their security.
Mr. Feeney was selected as the Director of Technologies, a newly formed department created in 2024 that seeks to bring Information Technologies and Operational Technologies together in order to move both Business Systems and Operational Systems in use by TMWA uniformly forward through strategies and technologies that can be leveraged in both environments. Mr. Feeney works closely with Technology Service staff to oversee the organizations collective systems, provide computer software and hardware tools that aid the efficiency and productivity of all its Departments, and to foster the development and vision within the department so the organization can embrace what technological changes are on the horizon. Mr. Feeney Holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Nevada, Reno.
